Travel day lasted 23 hours. We didn't have any issues but did struggle some with having to go through customs and immigration in China and Korea. My heart also dropped when we checked in at O'Hare and were asked for our Visas to get into China. Of course we didn’t have those, but thankfully the check in person understood my pleading look enough and understood that we were connecting to Korea. Upon arrival in Korea, we were immediately met by the driver outside of customs, but he didn’t speak any English so we didn’t have any idea what we were seeing as we drove over a "never-ending bridge" (as Jeff called it) to the place we are staying. The drive was about 35 minutes to reach Easter Social Welfare Society (where we are staying), and everyone is VERY nice and helpful. It was 10:00pm by the time we fell into bed, and I had only slept 1 hour on the planes. We had to meet the social worker and the baby at 10am the next day. The room we are staying in is small, just wide enough for a double bed (which was very comfortable) a small TV (only 2 channels are English speaking), and our own bathroom (no drain in it, all the water goes out a hole in the wall into the middle of the bathroom floor where the drain is.) There is a community room that is mainly a kitchen where we are supplied with eggs, bread, juice and soy milk. We are also staying on the floor with the unwed mothers rooms. We met a very nice couple this morning from Australia that said occasionally we will ride the elevator up with one of the pregnant girls. They were very helpful and told us where a market was to get Jeff some Coke (he needed the caffeine :)) There are also 50 babies right now in the nursery that I am going to go look at next. I will update more later, but Hi to Evan and Trenton; we miss you guys, but you would not have wanted to take the LOOONNNGGGG plane ride that mom and dad did.
