"See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared."--Exodus 23:20
Rob and Jim were restless in the morning and found they couldn't sleep, so they slipped out for a walk. They stopped for a bite of breakfast at none other than, MCDONALD'S! As they walked, they found themselves right in Tiananmen Square. They took some pictures there later in the day.
They also bused to the Great Wall and enjoyed a beautiful day at the Great Wall. Jim and Wil, seem to be the apple of the locals' eye! The girls wanted their picture taken with them--too cute. The Wall was very steep, and all planned to be plenty sore today. It is quite majestic and Jim and Dave got to or almost to the top--Jim has included a picture which resembles an aerial view of the Great Wall. The Wall was completed in a number of sections and over several (three, I think) dynasties.
"No, Rob, a baby--it was a baby you were going to get!"
Jim's breakfast--this could not have been McDonald's!!
They also visited The Jade Factory and the Silk Factory. They were able to view the silkworms and cocoons, as well as the total process of harvesting silk.
In the evening they shared a great deal of time with Mrs. Li--Rob said she shared her life story, and Rob was mesmerized.
On their bus ride, they saw the location of the arena being built for the 2008 Olympics; quite a structure. They were all given a stuffed panda bear in honor of their daughters and the upcoming Olympic mascot. There is one picture of Rob at the mike on the bus--Jim said he was sharing how he and I met--I can't believe they got him up to that mike! Funny thing is, when we met our travel group and started getting to know them, my first question was to ask how each couple met...Rob and I never did share our story-- maybe they called him on the carpet!
In 26 hours, Rob will be handed a gift the Lord selected for our family--I can hardly stand the anticipation. We are so very thankful. Continue to pray for the mommies, daddies, helpers, and especially those little babies who have little or no concept of the events about to transpire. God Bless them all...
Love,
Heather and Emily (as we wait....tick...tock...tick...tock)
