Last I spoke with Rob, he, Jim and Hannah were having breakfast in the hotel. There are some pictures of Hannah in her high chair. There are also some pictures in the hotel room during playtime and naptime. Last night, putting her to sleep, she would not give up the cup, bless her heart!

Their plans for today were to take a bus into the "country" and meet the locals. Rob said that the locals enjoy seeing the babies with their new families. Rob is a bit emotional, not in a sad way, but in an overjoyed way. His exact words were, "...this little girl amazes me!" He said she is winning all of the raspberry blowing contests, and she imitates everything Rob does. She watches him like a hawk, and he feels she is beginning to trust him. We know this will be a process and perhaps a long one, but he has a certain sense of satisfaction that she is sharing smiles more readily. He misses Emily and me and can't wait to share all of these milestones as they emerge as a family. No news to you, Rob; we miss you and Hannah too!

I will be anxious to get more information about their day in the country, but for now, after our last conversation, I am perfectly content just knowing they all seem to be faring well. Rob did mention Vanessa (their guide) who he thinks is some sort of goddess--she has translated, helped, made jokes, assisted with all the paperwork--we are so grateful that our agency has provided such capable people to help and hold our hands. In the pictures from the 26th, Vanessa is in the green jacket. Between she and Jim, they help Rob put it all in perspective when he becomes overwhelmed. Priceless...simply priceless.

More to come!
