Perhaps the greatest social service that can be rendered by anybody to this country and to mankind is to bring up a family.--George Bernard Shaw

Okay, so nobody ever said that parenting was easy...Today was a travel day for our group in China. They would journey from Nanchang to Guangzhou. In Guangzhou, they will complete visas for the babies and then finally be able to come home. It sounds like travel was tiring. Hannah hated the plane ride, but she made it, and so did he. Rob indicated he is on his own nerves at this point, so he can't imagine how Jim must feel. His exact words, "Jim had to give me a talkin' to last night--I needed it." We live and we learn--this process is initiation by fire. Take a small child whom we love with all our heart, but have not known to this point, mix with some illness, lots of travel and routine disruption, strange food, absent loved ones (I suppose I could go on and on), and the end result is not so pretty; For now...

Fast forward a few weeks and I'm not so sure it will look remotely the same. We will see. He did say that after Hannah completed her small, but noisy tirade on the plane and exhausted herself and anyone watching, once settled at the hotel, she gave the oscar-award winning performance of a lifetime: smiling, giggling and entertaining Rob and Jim before bedtime. Rob said it was like she was apologizing. Hmmm, an actress or a comedian?

All have commented that the hotel is beautiful and very plush. Only a few more days, and you will be home gang...for all those traveling in the group, it is plain to see that this process is not for the weak at heart or mild mannered. Thank you for what you are doing, for the worry, the joy, the uncertainty, the camaraderie--families are being born this week. No matter what else, families are being born this week. God bless you all; we continue to pray for you.
