Update
February 11, 2009
We have been home from China almost five months now. Jade is 16 months old.
Jade is doing very well. She is crawling and pulling herself to a standing position. She still does not have the balance yet to stand on her own. She sleeps about 10.5 hours per night and we are thankful for the much needed rest!
Jade has a very sweet voice and makes lots of sounds. The only word she can say so far is “mama”. Her newest trick is waving hello and goodbye. She has a clean bill of health from the pediatrician, and we are blessed. Jade has 3 teeth and is currently in the process of getting 4 new ones this week!
Jade started daycare on November 3, 2008. She is enjoying the company of another little girl also adopted from China at daycare.
Megan and Emily are a very big help to me. Jade is fortunate to have such great big sisters (and so is mommy!). They help feed and care for her.
On December 24, 2008 – we lost our home due to fire. The loss we feel is unimaginable, but we are thankful that everyone is alive. This has been a difficult adjustment, as Jade had just settled into her home and bedroom, when we had to relocate to yet another home. I have found that Emily & Megan are quite resilient, but Jade is taking all of the changes much harder. We are currently renting a home and hope to either rebuild or buy another home by June 2009.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make these decisions and transitions. This will most likely be our last written update to the site. I will try to post some current photos soon!
