Today we visited the Animal Safari. We enjoyed seeing the Pandas, but it was terribly hot. Two new Pandas just arrived because of the recent earthquake. The weather here is like a sauna. This is the perfect place to get our your summer outfits. We wear shorts every day. The baby is in sun outfits, and no one comments.
This afternoon we took a nap and went swimming in the pool. Dinner was at an Italian restaurant, and it was very good. We ordered the vegetable pizza (without onions, of course). It came with potatoes and carrots on it!
There are many adoptive families here in Guangzhou completing their adoptions. All of the shops cater to adoptive families. All sell about the same thing, all provide tailor service and laundry service. The laundry comes back pressed and in plastic packages. It is much less than in Kunming, and they do a very good job.
We contacted Ann at Red Threads, and she is going to take us shopping on Wednesday. Tomorrow we have the physical examination of the babies in the morning.
Jade is biting fingers like crazy. She is teething. She is very wiggly and can't sit still a minute. We are hoping this will change before the long flight home.
She has just started eating baby food and she loves the swimming pool.
I can't wait until tomorrow to find out how much she weighs!
Goodnight from Guangzhou
Note to Emily:
Sorry I haven't been able to call you. The phone service is very poor. We should have rented a "panda phone"!. Instead we are relying on the hotel phone, and we can't get a good connection. It won't be long now - we come home on Friday. I can't wait to see you!
Love you lots!
-Mom
