WE ARE HOME!!

The plane flight went on forever, and Jade slept only a few hours of nearly a 24 hour trip. All of our connections went well.

Upon arriving in Syracuse, NY, we were met at the airport by my Dad, Emily, my grandparents, and my brother and his family. My Dad rented a Limosine hummer, complete with the red carpet! That is the first time I have ever been in a limo! It was awesome. There were colored lights on the floors and ceiling, a nice loud stereo for the kids, and a luxury cooler filled with sodas. Some of our pictures were slightly dark because of the time of day - but there is no way I could properly capture that limo on photographs anyway! Dad also had 3 bouquets of roses - one for Mom, one for me, and one for Jade & Megan. I can see limosines in my future for 3 girls who will eventually turn 16.!

THANKS DAD!! WE LOVE YOU!

Today we spent most of the day unpacking and catching up on rest. Jade is sleeping well any time of day and continues to smile a lot. She isn't so interested in drinking her formula, but she gets enough to sustain her and I think it has a lot to do with all the excitement, changes in her environment, and strangers. Emily has been catching me up on all her activities, and we are so happy to see each other.

We made a quick stop at Wegman's and the mall today - as well as dinner out at Friendly's at Emily's request. I was happy to oblige. That hamburger tasted great!

After we got home Dad surprised us with a new crib for Jade. This crib is antique - and I love it! I think she will have this one all her life!

First Day Home

"For I know the plans I have for you sayeth the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you.
Plans to give you hope and a future"--Jeremiah 29:11

As we end this adoption journey - Jade's life in the USA has just begun. I am happy to be able to offer her all the opportunities that we have in America. I will offer her the love of a forever family. As a mother I will hold her in my heart always. Somehow I hope her birth mother will know how much we love her.

In China much is focused on "luck" and good fortune. We believe in neither - simply an awesome God who has a plan for each and every one of our lives. To him I owe the praise for bringing Jade to our home. Without him, I would have never made it through this process. Jade is perfect for our family! We are very blessed.

WELCOME HOME JADE !
