We have finally arrived in Seoul, Korea! We had been told the flight was to be 14 hours, but it ended up only being a little over 12...thank you, Jesus, for tail winds!! There were a few moments where thoughts of opening up the door and flinging myself out were getting a little too real for my own good! :) It might've been the elderly Asian man who had a serious case of sleep apnea, or either he just didn't care about making any and every bodily noise that he could think of...while we were trying to sleep. Or, it could've been the girl behind me that sneezed loud enough and hard enough that they were felt by a swooshing of my hair...437 times! Jon Milledge and I have popped our No Jet Lag pills religiously, Caryn has done her Zicam, and we have all inhaled numerous Vitamin C lozenges. Hopefully we can ward off any nasties! Pray!

We were so excited to finally get on the plane in Chicago at 1am on Saturday morning, so that we could go to sleep, only to be awakened an hour later with our meal service. WHAT??? Seriously, people, it is 3am to my body. I don't want Korean Beef Steak with some toothpaste tube of red gunk to put on top. You should've seen the look on our three faces when we were offered the meal. We were again awakened several hours later...don't ask me that time...it was somewhere around Siberia, with our sandwich service. So we had a turkey sandwich probably around my breakfast time. Then at 2am Korea time, they turned on all the lights and said, "Good morning everyone, we will now be serving you breakfast!". We were offered lasagna or shrimp fried rice, roll, yogurt, fruit and OJ. I think they were very surprised when all three of us accepted the fried rice. I couldn't even think about lasagna at 2AM...of course, it was 1pm to my body. UGHHH! These are true stories, but really Asiana Air has been a great airline, and those poor flight attendants worked their tails off for 13 hours. We each had our own TV screen. We watched Bounty Hunter and Diary of a Wimpy Kid as well as the screen showing where our little plane was at all times...not sure if that is good or not, especially when it shows 10 more hours!!!

I just received an email from a fellow Xi'an mother who knows she is receiving her daughter today at her hotel upon arrival. She told me not to be surprised if when we arrive in Xi'an at noon, that my guide tells me we are on the way to get Ruthie! Oh my...hope those No Jet Lag pills worked!

Here are a couple of pics from our trip so far. Enjoy!
