Today we started off with breakfast then a trip to the Chongqing Zoo. This was Savannah's first bus ride with us, and she enjoyed looking out the windows. The bus ride took about 1/2 hour, and we spent a few hours looking at the animals. The Panda is China's national animal and is on the verge of becoming extinct. According to our guide, there are only 1000 pandas left in China, and the number keeps shrinking every year. After the bus ride back, we went shopping at the local Care Four, similar to Wal-mart. We received lots of stares from the local people, who were trying to figure out why we have Savannah. We have learned some Chinese phrases and have a card that hangs around our neck to explain what we are doing here. Once we finished shopping, we came back to the hotel and everyone got ready for bed. And, like last night, I am the only one still up, but not for long. Tomorrow we have an option to visit the Old Town. This town still keep the old traditional Chinese ways. There will be shopping and a lot of bartering. Enjoy the pictures--will write more tomorrow. If you haven't done so, please sign our guest book, and/or drop us an email. We can receive email though our web page under contact us.
