This was another very good day. Savannah must be feeling better, she laughed and was in a good mood most of the day. She started eating some food from a spoon and actually liked it. Today we met in Marie, our guide's room, and she gave us some important paperwork to take to Guangzhou with us. We will need these papers to take to the U.S. Consulate's office in order to complete the U.S. portion of the adoption. If we lose these papers, we will not be able to bring Savannah home. They are required to get her Visa to enter the U.S., so we are guarding them with our lives. At 4:00 all of the families met in the hotel lobby for some group pictures. It was good to have everyone together again to talk to. The pictures went pretty well. Some of the babies were tired and did not want their picture taken, as you can see in the picture below.
Once the pictures were all taken, 5 families decided to go to the underground sleepless city and have one last dinner while in Chongqing. It was a very good dinner. We had 10 different dishes. Everyone went away full, and this only cost about $4.00 each. The food here is very good and very inexpensive. The same dinner in the U.S. would have been at least $15.00-$20.00 per person. After dinner we walked around the city and did a little bit of last minute shopping. On the way back to the hotel, we watched the water fountain. The water and lights react to the sound of music. Several people came to sit and watch and relax.
Tomorrow we leave for Guangzhou. The plane is scheduled to leave around 12:50, and we are to arrive around 2:40. There is a typhoon scheduled to hit Hong Kong tomorrow evening (Beijing Time), and we will arrive before it hits. We will feel some of the effects, as Guangzhou is not a long way from Hong Kong. Hopefully no one will get hurt, and it will cool things down a bit. Well it's getting late. We will write more tomorrow from Guangzhou.
Jordan and Tannor: Only 5 more days, and we'll be home. We miss and love you. See you soon.
