ITS TARI TIME!!!
Firstly the beds are waaaay softer, and comfier at The Victory!!! When I woke up, I thought I'd done very well...I'd slept til morning!!! I quietly got up and took my handbag to the bathroom, to check the time on my phone. It was 420am!!!! DOH!!! I made use of my early morning, and rang my Mum and spoke to the kids. They are 2.5 hrs ahead, at home, so they were just getting ready for school! HI GUYS!!! I LOVE YOU!!!
We had a scrumptious buffet breakfast...but who can eat at times like this?!!! At 930am we met our guide in thhe lobby, and at a batch member's request we all went to the Children's Market. The guide DID say it was a wholesale market, she even told us, some will say, only wholesale...I got ONE shop to sell me something!!! And they were really tight on the bargaining (so much so, I could get most things cheaper at home!!!) We went to the supermarket, and picked up supplies (nappies eeekkkk! formula eeekkkk!) OH MY GOSH! ONLY ONE HOUR TO GO!!!
Todd & I interviewed each other in our room...I cried (make that wept). We met our Guide in the lobby at about 215pm, and boarded the bus to our loooooong awaited daughter. When we arrived, one little girl (from our batch) was already there, waiting in the big room. Shortly after, holding the hands of two nannies and walking very unsteadily was the most beautiful sight I have beheld, in at least a few days...

The whole experience was sooo SURREAL. I was actually holding the little girl in the photos. Our daughter. Holding her. In MY arms. Simply incredible. Oh yeah! She did not shed ONE tear, the whole time we were at the Civil Affairs Office. She fell asleep in my arms, just before we left. She woke up, when we were going up in the lift at the Hotel, and very quietly started to whimper and cry, when we entered our room. It was heartbreaking. The look on her face as we entered our room was complete fear. She looked at us and around the room. She whimpered and cried (very quietly). Todd said you could see on her face, that she was trying to be so brave, but she looked so scared. 15 mins later, I had to go back to the lobby to do the paperwork. I left Todd with a very sad Tari. I got through my paperwork in record speed, to find a quiet, but scared little girl. I tried to give her a bottle, but she wouldn't have it. She kept screwing up her face and turning her head. I mnaged to get about 1/2 tin of fruit salad puree into her. But no joy with the bottle (I tried to give it to her quite hot). Our guide told me that she loved water and had 2 baths a day!! So I risked upsetting her even more, to strip her 3 layers off and give her a bath. She LOVED it! She was fascinated with the bubbles, and splashed water everywhere!!! I dried her off and put her in her brand new jammies. (thanks Tash!) I gave her the little mirror that Mary-Mia had given me, and she played very happily with it, on our bed, for a good hour! I tried a fresh warm bottle, still no joy. I then tried spoon feeding her the cold formula, from earlier. She took it!! Now, as you can imagine, spoon feeding a bottle of formula would take forever, so I tried to give her the bottle of cold formula - which she took to much better. BUT, I don't think she's ever had a bottle before!!! She kept wiggly her tongue about, like crazy, and pushing the teat out. Anyway, I will persist tomorrow, with the cold formula. I need to get some rice cereal to add to it though.
She was looking quite drowsy, after our cuddle, at 8pm, so I put her in her cot, awake, with her little mirror toy. She lay there awake watching us, and playing with her mirror for at least an hour....and eventually drifted off to sleep.
Gosh. She is just so beautiful. So placid.
We are truly, truly blessed.
