IT'S OFFICIAL!
No-one can take her away - she is officially ours, as far as both the Australian and China Governments are concerned!
FootprintAfter going back to the Civil Affairs office to have our photo taken for our Red Book, see a Civil Affairs Offiicer, and a Notary~ we had a free afternoon. Todd rang a girl who supplies our business with goods, and she took us to see "Guangzhou City". She took us to a couple of shopping hot spots, but they didn't really have, anything we were after (it was mainly "name brand" stuff we can get at home.) She took us on the Subway as well! It was great to spend some time with her. How's this for freaky...Tari's nanny told us, they spoke "harka" dialect in Ping Yuan...well, the girl we were with today, speaks the harka dialect!!! Tari still didn't seem to respond to what she was saying! But she is mimicking so much of what we do and say! Its so funny!!! We finished up having dinner at the Cow and Bridge Thai Restaurant, which we highly recommend, if you're visiting in Shamian Island Guangzhou - it was deeelicious!
Some (Mummy) side notes:*Tari is drinking from a cup or glass... and is eating like a champion! She had congee, egg, a little bread and watermelon for breakfast, and loved them all. She ate plain rice for dinner, and we'd bought a "kiwi fruit pudding" (like a milky jello) earlier, that she loved down too!
*Tari did a poo!
*Tari's personality really started coming out today...she's very cheeky, lively, responsive, and active!
*Tari loves to walk holding our fingers
*Tari isn't "clingy", I left her in our room, and made her bottle in our bathroom...she played happily on the floor, and after a while, crawled to see me!
*Tari only had one teary moment today, after she woke from her afternoon sleep...Yes...those weirdos are still here!!!
*Tari has worked out the "if I drop it, those idiots will pick it up and give it back to me" game
*Guangzhou is really warm...even in winter
*Bring a sippy cup, if you're packing for your trip - I'm convinced Tari never had a bottle - she's happy with the cup (THANK YOU to our wonderful batch mates that gave us theirs!)
* I just can't believe that in less than 24 hours, this little girl is so comfortable with us. It's simply amazing.
I forgot to say a few things about our "TARI TIME"! Our DVD camera decided it would't record, right on THE Tari moment. So we didn't get the "handover" on camera. I'm not bothered, really (I'll probably be really ticked off later), but it didn't pan out how I thought it would any way, so it's all good. Todd did get the camera going shortly after, and we have some early footage. Here's the clothing Tari was wearing when we met her:
Tari Time Clothes*Here's a Question for Mikayla's class* Which City is the biggest (most populated) city in China? Do you know how many people live there? Answer will be here tomorrow! (sorry I haven't asked any questions before now... we've been a bit distracted and busy!!)
Thank you for your wonderful Guest Book entries, emails and blog comments. Thank you for the gorgeous comments on how I am "glowing" and looking so happy. I'm not faking! I CANNOT stop smiling! I have a little problem with the pc, I need to "plug in" to the internet connection, but there's no powerpoint near the connection, so I've got to go on battery life, which seems to run out very quickly once I've downloaded photos and typed my post! So I'm struggling to answer all emails! But I am reading them!! BIG THANKS to Chet and Dusty at Adoption Voyages, for doing such a great job! Thanks for your comment re: Mary Joyce's bottles, Tari is having formula warm now!
I think that's all I wanted to say! For your enjoyment, here's some photos... Tari just adores Todd, and really mimics the faces he pulls! Look at that face! Can you believe she's been with us less than 24 hours?!!
