PASSPORT DAY

Well...I think I fell off Cloud 9, at about 4am this morning!!! Our little Miss Tari Mei, decided to try out the crying to an instant reaction, and tried it every TWO hours! I didn't jump up the first two times, and she only cried for about 30 seconds. But at 2am, it was on!!! Another family in our batch is in the next room...and they even heard her!!! Yikes!!! I got up, rubbed some Bonjella on her big front tooth that is trying to break through. She was screaming again at 4; this time she wouldn't let up. She didn't poo yesterday, and wouldn't drink much, so I was thinking she was probably constipated, as well as sore gums, so I gave her some panadol. Fortunately, she does settle quickly...but her cry is ear piercing!!! We joked with the family next door, that they were probably laying there thinking, "Thank God, they finally had some drama with Tari!!!" They laughed, and said "yes! They did think that!!!" I knew that we would wake up from this wonderful dream, sooner or later!!! She was screaming again at 6, so we put her in bed with us, but she was very twitchy and wouldn't sleep.

She was pretty much a grizzle guts all morning. We met our batch at 10am, to go to a local Pedestrian Shopping Street. I bought 2 watches, for 20RMB each (that's just under AUS$5 each!!). Tari went to sleep in the stroller. We went to McDonald's for lunch...and KABOOM! A breakthrough of monutmental proportions!! She actually held a french fry in her fingers, and fed herself!!!! Yay!!! We were so excited! She drank a lot more today. And managed to squeeze out 2 little nuggets, but I'm hoping she'll loosen up tomorrow. (yeah... what a great read...baby poo stories!!!)

We came back to the hotel so the baby's could have a (quick) sleep. Tari cried, when we put her down (she hasn't done that before) but did go to sleep within about 15 mins. I had to wake her up so we could go to the Police Station to apply for Tari's passport. She was NOT impressed!!! And screamed the place down!!! I changed her into her extra special pink Chinese outfit... more screaming! The whole excursion went for less than an hour. Tari was very happy when we came back. So we just hung out in our room. Ordered room service. Gave Tari a bath. She went to bed, with about 2 seconds of whinging!

*Mikayla's Class: The answer to yesterday's question is: Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of China

OK, my question for today is: What was the former name of Guangzhou (the City we are in)?*

Here's a couple of pics from today:
