VISIT TO THE GOAT PARK

Ok, so it's not called the Goat Park...but that's what was there! It was a gorgeous "rainforest" like park, and on top of a large hill was a huge statue of a big goat and 5 little goats. Apparently its very important to the Guangdongians. The big goat sends five little goats and the big goat has rice seeds in it's mouth, and drops the little goats and the rice seeds, into Guangdong, and it became very plentiful. I'm not sure what the little goats signify?!! Our guide said ALL tourists come to take photo of the statue, so we must take photo!!!

We went back to the hotel so Tari (and Todd) could have a nap...and I went shopping for Tari Day souvenirs. Got lots...now I don't know how I'm going to be within our "China domestic" baggage limits!!

We had a quiet afternoon, and visited with another family in our batch, then went out to a local restaurant for dinner. It was YUMMY and CHEAP! My kinda dinner!!! I think we've discovered Tari's favourite food...NOODLES! Far out!!! You've never heard a baby scream so loud (because you're not going fast enough) with the food!!! It was embarassing!!! The last couple of days, Tari's vocalising has reached monumental pitch!!! Geez...she could break crystal with her chatting and screaming!!!

We had a great sleep last night, her big front tooth has broken through the gum, Tari started drinking from a straw...and 2 poos today!!! YES! A lot was achieved today!!!

Mummy's side notes:

*Yoghurt and fruit do wonders to get the bowel moving!

*Jordon's Place has great "fixed price" souvenirs

*I got brocade squeaky shoes today for only 25 Yuan!

*A girl can never have too many shoes

*Mikayla's Class ~ The answer to yesterdays question is "CANTON."

Today's question is: Which Country ruled Hong Kong from 1950's til 1997?

FREE DAY & PEARL RIVER NIGHT CRUISE

Our batch opted for a free day, today, which was nice! We took our time getting ready and having breakfast. And as she's done for the last five days, Tari goes to sleep after breakfast! For once, we could put her to sleep in her cot, instead of in the pram. When our princess woke up, we went for a walk on Shamian Island, and (accidentally) ended up doing some more shopping!!!

I got some really good deals, and finished up our "souvenir" shopping. We visited the White Swan Hotel and took a couple of happy snaps in the lobby, before heading to Starbucks for a "take away" lunch. And went back to our room, so Tari Mei could have (another) sleep! She's started to grizzle when we put her in bed...but always settles within a few minutes!

We chilled out all afternoon, and met the rest of our batch in the lobby at 530pm. We boarded the Pearl River boat around 6pm--had a yummy buffet dinner and stood on the deck, in the balmy evening breeze. It was really good! As seems to be our trait, just as we were boarding the boat, Todd went to take a picture, and his camera was flat!!! DOH! I left mine in our room! We took a few with our phones...but the quality just isn't the same! Here are a few shots from today:
